Search: What are the basic prerequisites for Search to work in a WSSv3 installation?
Description
For a WSS Only install:
1. You need to have the WSS Search service started.
[Ed. On the Server. Start / Administrative Tools / SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration / Operations / Services on Server - by default this ought to be Started already]
and
2. When you create web applications you must select a search server.
3. If you add a content database you must select a search server.
